What do you think when you see this picture? Tell me. Make up a story. Opinions welcome.
"Change" all the way around.
"For I am the Lord, I change not..." The One Constant in our world. Praise Him. Thank Him. Worship Him. (Malachi 3:6 - King James Version)

Oh oh...you may not want to know my simple opinion. Keep this in mind, I am not awake and will share with you only my initial thoughts. Once I looked at the photos more closely I realized what/whom I was looking at.
ReplyDeleteI think we all fit into a certain lifestyle.
I used to live the corporate life. I now treasure the more casual, laid-back life. Mind you, I work long hours. Yesterday my day started at 6:30 AM, and I found myself working at 9:00 PM. That isn't typical, but it is common.
About the photos...at first glance I thought, "I prefer living the lifestyle of the woman on the right." She is comfortable. She looks happy. She looks energetic.
Then I realized who the pair where. What a change!
I am a little unhappy with many of the changes facing the small businesses that we both run on our farm, so I am not particularly happy with anything when it comes to the presidency right now. We may not be able to continue of the taxes and health care reform presses down on us.
How do I feel about the photos? I keep getting away from that...I praise Michelle for feeling comfortable enough to appear in a more casual nature. But...and I am going to put on my other side...as my boss alway says, "You dress for success." There is a degree of respect that we show in how we dress, and perhaps that is boxing things in too much, but to show respect for the country, does the photo on the right speak millions?
I am stopping here. I may come back and say more...after I am awake. Ha!
Take care...and if you have the time, please check in on my blog today. I am throwing out very general questions. Not based entirely on how I feel right now. However the questions are answered will mold the next blog post!
Thanks!
Shoot me, but I was shocked when I saw this picture. I have never in my life seen a first lady so blatantly ignorant, including Hillary,(who always dressed appropriately, but I'm not a fan of hers) to so disrespectfully represent her office. I don't think 'comfortable' needs to be defined by 'nakedness', and she just looks naked. Laura bush is dressed modestly, like her predecessors. It doesn't matter where you work or play, a woman should present herself in the best way; modestly and attractively. All the education in the world cannot replace good common sense. By the way; her arms look a lot better than those legs!
ReplyDeleteMine will be very brief. I see one clean, tailored, well groomed lady and one......wellll.....not.
ReplyDeleteI so totally agree with all. Laura Bush is a classy lady, she dresses for her role as the wife of the President of the United States, in a respectful tasteful manner. In sharp contrast on the right is our new first lady. Is she doing the same thing? I think not. I wonder what Obama thinks of this? I wonder if he knew his wife was going about as first lady dressed like this. I don't care if she's hanging out with the kids or not. At home it might be fine, or on a family vacation, but not in the public eye. You never saw Laura Bush running around in shorts in a public place. (or the other Presidents' wives) It's disrespectful, IMO, to the role of the President's wife, and as a part of the leadership of our country. What do other nations think about this?
ReplyDeleteOh, yeah, Debbie - I forgot to answer your question - I DID buy the garden tool container (that old green weather-stripping thing). The photo was from my garden shed with all my tools in it!
ReplyDeleteShe could at least wear long walking shorts!
ReplyDeleteNot appropriate for a 1rst lady getting off the plane. I agree that on vacation and with only the family would be o.k. but not in our public eyes. A sundress with a shaw would have been more appropriate.
