Monday List

Happy Monday, Dear Friends!

For the first Monday in a long time, I can tell you, positively and with great excitement, that it is sunshining outside!  The forecast is sunshine all week.  Heavenly Glory!

How are you all doing on your Monday lists?  Seems I get more done these days.   So, let's saddle up and ride!
  • Unbox the winter clothes.  In Texas, we can wait a little longer to do this.
  • Vote on Tuesday.
  • Paint the bedroom.
  • Sew like a mad woman.
  • Take Queen Mother to Dallas on Thursday for her appointment with the surgeon.
  • Stock sale booth in Cullen Baker Country Fair on Saturday.  Always a fun day.
  • Attend two weddings on Saturday afternoon.
  • Continue chapter reading in War and Peace.
  • Continue scripture memorization and practice music piece for Christmas play.  This particular rendition of "O Holy Night" is by Point of Grace.  Beautiful arrangement.
Has anyone started her holiday shopping?  Any great gift ideas out there?  Tell me about it.

Y'all have a good week!

See you in the funny papers.

  1. Sure you can get all that done in a week? Sounds like a full one.

I've bought one Christmas gift so far. I was in the hardware store the other day and at the checkout they had some charcoal lighters made to look exactly like fishing rods. They even had little reels on 'em. My dad's nickname is "bass buster". Of course I had to get it for his stocking. (hey, at least I've started...)

Have a beautiful day and get outside. I'm excited, too, about the weather, too! Going to work at the farm this afternoon after work. Tony and Josh built me a window box out of an old shutter that I've painted blue and am going to plant some flowers in it and start getting the yard cleaned up for the fellowship Saturday night. Got to buy pansies and snaps!

  2. We've discussed the fact that none of us needs anything this year. My husband's company has cut hours and just laid off 5 guys. My heart hurts for their families. Since 'conserving' seems to be the word for the season, we thought we'd concentrate on doing something for someone else. Oh, we're going to have a wonderful Christmas, but it's going to be much more laid back and I intend to concentrate on the 'real' meaning of Christmas that doesn't take place in a mall:). Debbie

  3. PS. What you plan to do this week? I'd have counted myself lucky to accomplish last year!

  4. Don't know if there will be any material prestents here this year. My husband is the only one working right now and my father is having to help pay our bills. I am very lucky to have a father that is willing to help pay the bills and has helped pay the bills for the past 7 months. No job opportunities here right now. My son graduated in May from high school and hasn't been able to find a job either. He wants to go to college (I want that for him more than anything in the world!).

  5. Have been trying to buy handmade and make more of my gifts this Christmas. Actually I bought one of Brin's aprons for my sister. She is going to love it.
I have been making wire/bead crosses and decorating dominos for necklaces in my spare time.
    Hugs...

  6. I have already started my shopping. I found some really nice fleece sheets at JCPenney on sale. I also found plush blankets on sale too! I shop throughout the year and put things back for all kinds of gifts.
