Leading tonight's report is, of course, the Dallas Cowboys' win.
Really, I have to be perfectly honest and tell you that I didn't see one play of the game. I don't even know who they played, sorry! Being the good reporter that I am not, I do know that Tony had one interception - as opposed to 234? bless his heart - but the score was way on up there, like 30-something to...
Hey, listen. Don't get your football facts from me.
After church when the game was on, I had nine great folks around my dinner table laden with barbeque beef and buns, potato salad, pinto beans, pumpkin cake and chocolate pie (of course). So yummy! At half-time, most of us rushed back to the church for Christmas play practice.
Play practice always excites me. I probably should have majored in fine arts or drama or music. Sharing the same breathing space with up and coming singers and talented young adults is stimulating. It's amazing the level of flair and savvy in their little fingers!
Two of my favorite young singers, Rich Wisdom and Starla Ray, need to be the next duo in Nashville. Seriously, their duet was incredibly CD worthy.
34 and I left play practice and headed to Wal-Mart and saw the strangest guy with long, gray, braided hair and pink with red lips happy pants. He must have been there on a dare. I should have asked him. Sometimes, I would just like to hang out in Wal-Mart for a while and take pictures of all the weirdos walking through the store. That would be a crazy, rainy day project, wouldn't it?
Would anyone like to take that challenge?
This concludes tonight's report. Short, sweet, and happy. I hope you had an exciting day. Tell me about it.
See you in the funny papers.

Yes, the Cowboys. We knew them well. Are they still together:)The food lineup sounds wonderful. So Texasy.
ReplyDeleteWow, you guys start practice early!
I always tell my daughter that going to Walmart is kind of like going to the circus used to be. We see the tattooed man, the fat lady, people with metal piercing their faces, and others. It's very sad. People in the circus made a living off their differences. Nowadays people pay for their own.

I am the IN gal. I don't do Wal-Mart unless I want a good laugh or be reminded how lucky I am that I have what I have. My friends and family say I am crazy for not doing Wal-Mart. I don't think people save money by going there and I really think they allow their stores to get very trashy (or is it because of all the funky people who are there that it seems trashy?). I do what we call Target here in IN. Love that store. Clean, wide isles, can find stuff just as cheap(sometimes cheaper) than Wal-Mart. Another store I don't do is Aldi's Grocery Stores (they are cheaper than other leading grocery stores)...they are dirty and people are so rude!!
ReplyDeleteI really miss Wollworth and Murphy Dimestores. I don't know if you ever had those in TX but we did have them in IN. I miss people greeting me by my name and taking time to see if I found everything o.k. and I miss that small town feeling that you got even going to the big cities when there weren't Wal-marts. I don't like the big box stores.
ReplyDeleteHi Miss Debbie - Looks like you had a great weekend and a fabulous fall festival! I really think that Velcro thing would be so fun!!!
ReplyDeleteLucky you getting to sing with those lovely young women - I'm glad you told me which one you were - I wouldn't have known...
I'm so tired. We did the first estate sale Saturday, did pretty good, sold one of the cars we needed to get rid of. That was good. Hopefully I'll have more energy tomorrow! Looks like you're picking up some followers. Good for you - it took me a LOOOOONNNGG time to do that. I hope you have a wonderful fantastic week! Enjoy the weather ---
Thanks for the nice post! I miss Texas; I've planned to have lunch with Vickie when I drive through next May. You'll have to join us. I need Tex-Mex! My folks were from Clarksville. Still have lots of family around E. Texas.
