Be Kind One To Another

It was a most lovely sight.

Every big white truck that passed, I blessed 'em.
I was moving south along US Highway 59,
and I witnessed travelling north a posse of men
in their white steeds on wheels - dozens -
coming from points south and
heading to aid the folks who are without lights and heat.

Girlfriends and Mr. Bill, I cried.
Because I thought
who else in the world would rush to the aid
of their fellow citizens,
and even people in other countries,
to provide help in time of great need?

God bless those electricians!

Wish I had a picture to show you.
It was a beautiful sight.

"And as you would that men should do to you,
do you also to them likewise."
Luke 6:31 KJV

Yes, I cried...
...from a grateful heart.

  1. I understand completely! When my husband and I still lived in Northern Virginia we had a big power outage as a result of a summer storm. We were without power for 3 days and celebrated when it finally was repaired! We're having an ice storm here in southern part of NC so I told my parents they could come bunk at our house if they lost the electricity at their home. Thank the Lord it hasn't yet happened today! By the way, is the fill in the blank word, stinky? (different than smelly, right)? Jeanette

  2. Debbie, I do so love your appreciation of the heroes in our everyday (or not so everyday) lives... And, I appreciate those heroes, too.

I'll let you know if I get brave enough to check out the TM. =)

  3. Gotta think harder than that, Jeanette, but thanks for the try. :) I thank you for wanting to play the game. Am hoping the best for you there in NC. I heard today that some folks have 3 inches of ICE. Yikes!
    Let me know, Tanna.

  4. Hey girl - isn't always great to see mankind's goodwill toward others? We don't get to see it too much these days. Really have to look for it.

I still haven't been able to figure out your little brain teaser. I need to go back and read it again. I guess you made your trip to Txkna okay. I wondered if you got any snow on you.

We went to the metroplex today and took mom and dad with us and met my sister & her family and Hayley came up and met us too. We all went out to eat and came on back home this evening. A great time was had by all!

  5. Darn! I so love a word challenge but since hitting the big 5-0 my brain stays in low gear. I'll keep trying. ;)

Here near Ft.Bragg, NC we got about 2-3 inches (at least in our own yard) but the sun is shining today and ice is a-drippin. No one in our family lost power and for that we're all very thankful.

The pigeon story was really good this morning and gave me a good chuckle. My family and I are all suckers for feeding everything from stray cats and dogs to slugs lying on the front walkway (my sister really feeds them)! You have to watch out for those vicious pigeons cause once you make steady eye contact they will re-enact the opening scene from Alfred Hitchcock's classic, 'The Birds'. Hee Hee Jeanette
