Weekend Beauty

This weekend's weather was somewhat anomical, if that's a word. A Texas anomaly, which really, I suppose, isn't that highly unusual. In Texas. The colors, textures, new spring blooms, and change-by-the-minute atmosphere are good indicators that spring is on our doorstep with its first gentle knock. I was grateful for this 'gentle' knock; not all knocks around here are pleasant.

Warm sunshine and blue skies...

Quiet, tall forests...

The native holly tree amongst the pines...

Spits of rain and cool, foggy air...

A sweet little birdy home ready for occupants...

The first little yellow daffodils smiling

through last fall's leaves...

Don't they make you happy?

I love the textures and colors of this picture below.

And my true love who will not be happy

about me posting his picture...

(But I love this picture! I love the shape of his ear and the color of his hair.

And he looks good in blue. Don't you think?)

All the above pictures were taken by yours truly

between three and six o'clock in the afternoon

with a Nikon D3000 and DX AF-S Nikkor 55-200mm lens.

Those are beautiful pictures. They are so peaceful. I want to be sitting right there with a cup of coffee ready to read or have a great conversation.

Great photos - and yes, your hubby's ears are cute and he does look good in blue! tee-hee!

I like Debbie's comment. Looks like we're going to be able to say the same here in a day or so... Ugh.

I love the variety of colors and mood in your photos. I agree your hubby looks plain ole cute and his ear reminds me of my own spouse's ear...a little large but well shaped. Looking forward to hearing about your anomically good weekend. Jeanette

Wasn't Sunday gorgeous. We had a Ladies Conference this weekend that was so good. I will have to share the DVD with you when I get it!

we had a nice sunday...sunshine...then the rain hit...the temps dropped...gloomy all day today...might have snow this week...yuck

I see that your spring is waaayy ahead of ours. Of course although we are enjoying much milder days this February, we're not being seduced into thinking that spring has sprung..... too early for these parts. However, it was a grand joy to see your daffys in bloom. Makes me want to find that Wordsworth poem "I wandered lonely as a cloud..."

The Tooth Fairy - Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Julie Andrews, and Billy Crystal are fabulous! "The Rock" is quite mean and steals tooth fairy money from his girlfriend's little daughter. He then is turned into a tooth fairy for not 'believing' in fantasy. There's a subtle message to children that it's important to believe in fairies, goblins, leprechauns, and such; funny; rated PG; 3 stars
